Julia works with institutions across the UK and internationally developing strategies, partnerships and creative programmes to support dialogue, inclusion, and community wellbeing. 

Since 2022, Julia has been developing a participatory creative programme Our Symphony, working with communities to co-create and co-own original musical work and soundscapes in response to the local environment. 

She is Founder and Director of the UK-Global Alliance, a network of more than 80 organisations from across the UK that support international creative and educational opportunities for young people. 

Julia worked with the British Council for more than 12 years, including leadership of arts and education programmes in the European Union, Middle East and South-East Europe. Significant achievements include leading the UK’s education and creative programmes to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. In the UK, she led an Internationalism Strategy to support creative and education opportunities for young people in the UK, with a particular focus on increasing participation of under-represented individuals and communities. 

Julia is a mentor for The Prince’s Trust.
