James Oldham is a composer, performer, and co-artistic director of Waste Paper Opera. His work has been performed at Somerset House, Glasgow International, Café OTO, Media Lab (Matadero, Madrid), Ikon Gallery, and Eastside Projects. He is an associate lecturer in collaborative and collective practice at UAL, and has previously assistant directed for Sir Graham Vick with Birmingham Opera Company and National Opera Studio. He performs regularly for Brooklyn-based performance group Object Collection, and on the London cabaret scene as a musician and clown. In March 2024, he submitted a PhD on comic timing in music to the University of Southampton.
